According to a statement from the council, the allocation was for buying equipment, incentives for athletes and employing full time coaches.
"Athletes in FT have already started their training since last April as preparations for the SUKMA," said the statement here Sunday.
In the 2008 SUKMA in Terengganu, the FT contingent comprising 743 athletes and officials, returned with 29 gold, 38 silver and 57 bronze medals.
Melaka will host 34 sports comprising 18 compulsory sports and 16 picked by the host.
Among sports to be hosted are aquatics, weightlifting, badminton, cycling, football, gymnastics, hockey, lawn bowls, archery, shooting, karate, pencak silat, athletics, sailing, tenpin bowling, sepak takraw, squash, wushu, netball, basketball, equestrian, petanque, table tennis, silambam, boxing, golf, canoe, kabbadi, rugby, judo, tennis, fencing.
