Badminton All England 2010: Great Britain's mixed doubles players to watch

Great Britain's mixed doubles partnerships represent the best chance of success in the the major tournaments after Nathan Robertson and Gail Emms's medal successes.

Chris Adcock and Gabby White
World No 20

A left and right-handed combination. This combination is the youngest of Great Britain's realistic threats on the All England title.

They are making rapid progress and continue to show the immense promise displayed in winning the World Junior Championships silver medal in mixed doubles in 2007. A fast, attacking style makes them difficult to handle. White relishes playing in Birmingham and reached the last eight in 2009.

Nathan Robertson and Jenny Wallwork
World No 25

A partnership which is really starting to prosper as they come towards the end of the transitional period of the new partnership. This culmninated at the Manchester Velodrome in February when they became national champions. Robertson, particularly, had to find his preferred technique after coming out of the hugely successful partnership with Gail Emms. Understanding each other's style is key.

Robertson shows a lot of technical skill, control and set up play while Wallwork is a hard hitting, aggressive and a strong competitor.

Anthony Clark and Heather Olver

Another new combination following the recent retirement of Clark's long-term doubles partner, Donna Kellogg.

As of yet, they have no world ranking having only competed in one ranking tournament but their performance during that tournament was an eye-opener as they beat much-fancied Polish pair Mat and Kost.

For Olver, the change in level of play will be a big challenge, but one she is rising to admirably and appears to be handling the change in pace, intensity and working with a new partner.

Clark is a hard hitting, skilful left-hander who plays with a lot of deception complimented by his partner who is quick and clinical in the forecourt. Expect this combination to climb up the World Rankings rapidly.
