Badminton: Scots star Susan Egelstaff gets chance to test Luo coaching

SCOTTISH badminton champ Susan Egelstaff takes on Japan's Sayako Sato in the first round of the singles at the All-England Super Series in Birmingham today.

It will be the first chance the 27-year-old has had to see if her work with new national coach Yvette Yun Luo is paying off.

The ex-Chinese international has been tweaking Egalstaff's game for the last few months and the 2006 Commonwealth Games bronze medallist said: "Yvette has been really good.

"She hasn't made any major changes, just a few wee things here and there. Now it's a case of trying to apply what I've learned.

"Sayako is Japan's No.1 player so I know it's going to be tough."

In today's mixed doubles, Glasgow's Imogen Bankier and Robert Blair take on England's Chris Adcock and Gabby White.
