Badminton: UiTM To Host Friendly Match Between Malaysia And Japan Students
KUALA LUMPUR, July 22 (Bernama) -- An undergraduate badminton team from Japan will play a friendly match with the Malaysian team at the Universiti Teknologi Mara's (UiTM) main campus in Shah Alam, Selangor on Sunday.
The badminton friendly is being held for the first time under the Japan-East Asia Network of Exchange for Students and Youths (JENESYS) programme.
According to a statement from the Japanese Embassy, each team will comprise eight players and they will contest in five games in both the men's and women's categories.
Malaysian shuttlers to feature are Sayed Hafeez Sayed Mohsin (UiTM), Ten Bick Xiang (Universiti of Malaya), Cheah Like Hou (Universiti Putra Malaysia), Nurwati Ismail (UiTM), Daphne Ng Chiew Yem (UM), Nik Syen Chyn (UM) and Stephanie Sharini (UPM).
The tournament will be a platform to invest understanding and enhance relationship among young students from these two countries, said the statement.
