Complete Badminton Training by Former World Champion and Legend Zhao Jianhua and Xiao Jie - Mixed Doubles positioning of returning service

by Andrew

Returning the service in mixed doubles, you must strive to hit the shuttle at the highest point so that you can create angle to hit it downwards. Where as, even if the serve is really high quality or touches the net on the way over, you must try to hit it as high as possible by taking the initiative on your service return.

In mixed doubles, the female player should be at the front court guarding the net. The male player is responsible in the mid and back court. This is the basic (front/back) attacking formation.
