To perform the backhand cross court smash return. The grip has to be a slightly improvise forehand grip. Using the wrist to generate power and speed and the fingers to guide the shuttle over the net.

When hitting the backhand push, the movement of the wrist must be fast , using the full portion of the thumb to impart force.
