Legendary Badminton Player Finn Kobberro Dies

The legendary badminton player Finn Kobbero at the age of 73 died on January 21, 2009. The cause of his death is still unknown. His funeral was on 01/24/09. Finn Koberro will definetely be missed.

Finn Kobberro had an phenomenal career in badminton. He is one of a select few to win badminton titles in singles, doubles, and mixed doubles. He also won 15 titles at All England Open Badminton Championships. He won most those titles between 1955 and 1966. That is a very impressive accomplish.

In addition, he was an exceptional player in his native country of Denmark in which he won 22 Danish championships throughout his career (wikipedia.org). He was adorned and loved in Denmark during his career. He also won 55 out of 64 individual matches as a leading player in Denmark's Thomas Cup men's international team (wikipedia.org).

Finn Kobberro played the game of badminton similar too many other great badminton athletes. He was a powerful, quick, and agile as a badminton player. He also had the great technical skills and he had exceptional footwork. Equally important, he won his matches with his intelligence as well as his athletic ability.

His style includes the ability to be deceptive as a player. He also could use deceptive skills to keep his opponent guessing. This made his opponents sometimes go in the opposite direction from where the shuttle was really going. This ability to be deceptive is still prominently used today in the modern game of badminton so he was a man who played beyond his own time and era.

Finn Kobberro continued to be recognized as the best badminton player of his generation evens 40 years after his retirement from the game he loved. He also is still by many fans and experts considered to be one of the top ten greatest players ever to play the game. He in 1986 was given the Badminton World Federation Distinguished service award.

In addition, he was one of the first badminton athletes to make the hall of fame. He also received the distinguished honor of being inducted into the Badminton Hall of Fame in 1997. He has contributed a lot to the sport of badminton as well. He after his career worked as a television and radio commentator for Denmark Radio.

Finn Kobbero influenced the game of badminton long after his career ended. He will be surely missed. During his impressive career he was always a fan favorite. He will always be remembered as one of the best badminton players ever to play the game and an even better person. He also will be remembered for uttering domination in the badminton era from 1950's to 1960's.
