Marnhull and Gillingham Badminton Club

My Club plays at a social level at the new Riversmeet Leisure Centre located in Gillingham Dorset. We are delighted with the facilities and the hall was designed to our specification. On the opening day of the new centre last August we had Donna Kellogg helping and advising my Club members in the art of Badminton.
Donna was very impressed with our facilities and loved the flooring!

The Club was established in 1975 and has gradually expanded since that time. In recent years the level of play has considerably improved with the help of the Clubs Coach Neville Port (Badminton England level 2). His input helped us to achieve National Champions status in the "No Strings" Championships (Social) held at Milton Keynes. The champions were Mark Ward and Laura Hiatt (mixed) and Chris Read and Rosemary Hitchman (Veterans). I was dead proud of them and thank them for raising my Clubs profile.

The Club is affiliated and plays three times a week on four courts -
Monday is our open night playing from 7.30pm to 10pm with a charge of £4.00.
Tuesday is our Club night catering for players of fair ability upwards
Thursday is our night for ex league and County players or Club players of that ability. Both these nights have a membership and loyalty discounts plus other generous schemes.

The Club is willing to help all beginners and is very family orintated and has a friendly atmosphers ensuring that all games although competitive are also enjoyable.

We have bought all the nets/posts for the new centre, so that the community had the equipment to play badminton at all levels.
