New chief singles coach for Singapore badminton

THE Singapore Badminton Association (SBA) has appointed a new chief singles coach in former China national Luan Ching.

He takes over from Indonesian Asep Suharno, whose contract ended in January and has since gone on to become the coach of Vietnam's national team.

Luan has signed a three-year contract with the SBA, which will see him in charge at least up till the 2012 Olympic Games in London.
