New Radnor Badminton Club - New Radnor, Powys

by Karan Peachey
(Yardro, Powys, Wales)

We are a small but friendly club playing every Wednesday evening from September through till April.

The club is split into 2 different groups:
the Juniors. These include any child up to High School age and older beginners. (Adult beginners are in the Adult group). This group is encouraged to have fun while learning, including the rules, sportsmanship, as well as grips, strokes etc. We have an end of season mini tournament with awards etc.

Seniors: this group is for anyone over 11 years of age (our oldest member is in his 70s!)and is for beginners and experienced players alike. Again the emphasise is on fun, with encouragement and coaching provided for the less experienced, as well as games for those who want to perfect their skills. Players of high school age are encouraged to play in local matches, and the group often visit other clubs for a change of venue and competition!

We play in New Radnor Community Centre which is situated on Hall Lane, New Radnor. Just of the A44. We are not far from the Wales/Herefordshire border, and welcome players of all ages and capabilites from England & Wales (& beyond!)
