No Stopping Markis and Hendra

Indonesia's Olympic champions Markis Kido and Hendra Setiawan continued their winning form when they won the French Open title in Paris.

The world's number one men's doubles pair and top seeds overwhelmed sixth seeds Cai Yun and Xu Chen, of China, 21-15, 21-12 in the final to confirm their status as the best team on the face of the earth.

It was another confident triumph for the Indonesians, whose only hiccup came in the semi-finals when they were stretched to three games by Malaysia's third-seeded pair of Koo Kien Keat and Tan Boon Heong.

Their 17-21, 21-16, 21-14 victory against the former All England champions cam after two comfortable wins.

In the first round, they defeated England's Chris Langridge and David Lindley 21-18, 21-18 before a quarter-final triumph over Malaysia's fifth seeds, Mohd Zakry Abdul Latif and Mohd Fairuzizuan Mohd Tazari, 21-19, 21-16.

Cai and Zu, who like other Chinese pairs have failed to stop the Indonesian juggernauts, had accounted for the second seeds from Denmark, Lars Paaske and Jonas Rasmussen, 21-18, 21-9.

Before that, in the last eight, they scored a 21-15, 21-10 win against their Chinese rivals Fu Haifeng and Shen Ye.

Top seeds Du Jing and Yu Yang, of China, won the women's doubles title with a hard-fought 20-22, 21-19, 21-11 victory over the Malaysian fourth-seeded pair of Eei Hui and Wong Pei Tty.

In one of the rare top-seeded victories during the Paris tournament, Du and Yu overcame Indonesia's Lita Nurlita and Endang Nursugianti, Danes Lena Frier Kristiansen and Kamilla Rytter Juhl and fifth-seeded Chinese team of Cheng Shu and Zhao Yunlei on the way to the final.

China won their third title of the tournament when He Hanbin and Yu Yang took the top prize in the mixed doubles event.

The second seeds beat England's fourth-seeded pair of Anthony Clark and Donna Kellogg 21-13, 21-19 in the final.

Earlier, they scored a semi-final triumph over Malaysia's Koo Kien Keat and Wong Pei Tty 21-18, 21-17.

The English team had previously upset the top seeds from Indonesia, Nova Widianto and Liliyana Natsir 21-18, 21-18 in their last four clash.
