Sabah Wins All-Malaysia Wives Of BN Elected Reps Badminton Championships

KOTA KINABALU, July 17 (Bernama) -- The Association of Wives of Sabah Barisan Nasional Elected Representatives (Bakisa) won the All-Malaysia Wives of Barisan Nasional Elected Representatives annual badminton championships this year.

It beat defending champion, Association of Wives of Perak Elected Representatives (Baiduri), for the 1Malaysia premier trophy in the final round this evening in a match watched by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak and his wife, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, who is president of the Welfare Association of Wives of Ministers and Deputy Ministers (Bakti).

Najib gave away the prizes to the winners of the badminton and tenpin bowling championships at the Likas multipurpose sports complex, here.

Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman were among those present.

Bakti won the third prize while the Association of Wives of Melaka Barisan Nasional Elected Representatives (Bistari) was fourth.

In the bowling championships, which ended yesterday, Baiduri emerged champion, Bakisa was the runner-up, Selangor Charity and Caring Association (Kasih), third and Bakti, fourth.
