Swiss Super Series gains confident, Malaysia team prepare for Sudirman Cup
Malaysia badminton team "world number one" Lee Chong Wei, and men doubles Koo Kien Keat and Tan Boon Heong came back from Swiss to Malaysia with 2 championships. They will now prepare fully for 2009 11th Surdiman Cup.
| Surdiman Cup will be help on the 10th-17th May, in Guang Zhou. Besides of Thomas and Uber cup, Surdiman Cup is also a well known tournament.
All England and Swiss Super Series have just ended, the next tournament would be on the end of March - India Open and 7th-12th April - Asia Championships. Malaysia badminton team wants to prepare for the Surdiman Cup, not allowing many main players to participate in the India Open and Asia Championship. This means that Malaysia will be going into more than 1 months of group training. Koo Kien Keat and Tan Boon Heong, Wong Pei Tty and Chin Eei Hui, will be absent for 2 the tournaments. But Tan Boon Heong says that Surdiman Cup is still a bit far away. To keep the match feeling, they'll fight for opportunities to participate in the Asia Championships. Lee Chong Wei is the only one who registered for the 24th-29th March India Open. From 2005 to 2007, China won the Sudirman Cup twice in a row so it seems that this event is important for them. After completing the tournaments in German, Birmingham, and Swiss they went into close training again. All main players will not participate in India and the Asia Championships. Source: sina.com |
