NEW DELHI, Oct 12 (Bernama) -- National number one Wong Mew Choo confirmed her ticket to the finals of the women's single Badminton Tuesday after defeating Elizabeth Cann of England 21-12, 18-21, 21-17 in a three-set thriller.
Jumping and screaming for joy, Mew Choo spotted a wide smile face of satisfaction after the match.
"I was under a lot of pressure and tension as I was not able to play my normal game. I was trying to overcome the situation so once I won, I was very, very happy," she told reporters after match.
On Cann's performance, Mew Choo said: "She played very well. She fought all the way."
Mew Choo said instead of aiming for the 2012 London Olympics, she would focus on the Asian Games to be held in China next month.
Meanwhile, Cann said she made more unforced errors than Mew Choo and that cost her the match.
Mew Choo will meet either Susan Egelstaff of Scotland or Saina Nehwal of India.
