Top Seed Eei Hui-Pei Tty Crash Out Of Malaysia Open GP Gold Badminton

JOHOR BAHARU, July 8 (Bernama) -- Top-seeded Malaysian doubles pair Chin Eei Hui and Wong Pei Tty failed to advance to the second round when they were defeated 23-25, 12-21 by the Indonesian pair of Vita Marissa and Nadya Melati in the women's doubles of the Yonex-Sunrise Malaysia Open Grand Prix Gold 2010 tournament here Thursday.

Another Malaysian pair of Chow Mei Kuan and Lee Meng Yean also suffered an upset 21-18, 17-21, 20-22 defeat at the hands of Indonesian pair Richi Puspita Dili and Weni Anggraini.

A third Malaysian pair of Ng Sin Er and Nurhani Abdul Aziz were defeated 5-21, 10-21 by second seeded Thailand pair Amitrapai Savitree and Munkit Vacharaporn.

Nevertheless, seven other Malaysian pairs made it to the second round.

They are Norshahida Baharum/Ti Wei Chyi; Nairul Suhada Abdul Latif/Marylen Ng Poau Leng; Lai Pei Jing/Shevon Jemie Lai; Vivian Hoo Kah Mun/Woon Khe Wei; Ng Hui Ern/Ng Hui Lin; Goh Liu Ying/Lim Yin Loo and Sonia Cheah Su Ya/Yang Li Lian.

Others who moved on to the second round are Lotte Jonathans/Paulien Van Dooremalen (Netherlands); Duanganong Aroonkesorn/Kunchala Varavichitchaikul and Savitree Amitrapai/Vacharaporn Munkit (Thailand); Rie Eto/Yu Wakita and Misaki Matsutomo/Ayaka Takahashi (Japan); Chan Tsz Ka/Chau Hoi Wah (Hong Kong) and Zhang Dan/Zhang Zhibo (Macau).
